Award Information
Building on its successful Alternatives to Detention program, the Children’s Village will implement a Reentry to Success Program that supports youth who are in the Westchester County Youth Detention Facilities and reentering their community. Reentry services will begin at least 90 days prior to a youth’s release from the detention facility and services will take place within the facility. The program will provide youth with comprehensive case management and will bridge youth to community-based services (education, employment, prosocial activities, mental health services, housing, etc.). Additionally, the program will provide youth with biweekly credible messenger Restorative Justice Circles with community allies. The program intends to partner with Westchester County Department of Probation to provide the vital and necessary services to youth who are leaving detention facilities to ensure they do not become involved with the juvenile justice system and ensure their successful reentry into their communities.
