Award Information
Johnson and Wales University proposes to provide food service and hospitality education to economically disadvantaged youth in Miami Dade County. The CETARY project( Culinary Education Training for AT Risk Youth) was previously funded by OJJDP in FY 2000 and 2001. Johnson and Wales will partner with Bay Point Schools and the Eleventh Judicial Circuit to identify 20 non violent youthful offenders to participate in the 12 month program. These youth will receive nine months of education and training and three months of hands on , practical culinary training. The goal of the program is to successfully place at risk students in the food service industry.
