The American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) will continue to provide information, training, technical assistance, and resource materials to youth court programs and jurisdictions interested in establishing youth courts through its National Youth Court Center (NYCC). Specifically, APPA/NYCC will provide regional training seminars to assist jurisdictions in establishing and/or enhancing youth court programs, as well as provide training via alternate means such as the Internet. The APPA/NYCC will develop new resource materials designed to help youth courts provide more effective services for their constituents, while maintaining its current primary services to over 1,000 Youth Courts in the 48 States and DC.

With support from OJJDP, the American Probation and Parole Association will provide information, training, technical assistance, and resource materials to youth court programs and jurisdictions interested in establishing youth courts through its National Youth Court Center. Specifically, APPA/NYCC will provide regional training seminars to assist jurisdictions in establishing and/or enhancing youth court programs, enhancing service projects, as well as provide training via alternate means such as the Internet. The APPA/NYCC will develop new resource materials designed to help youth courts provide more effective services for their constituents, while maintaining its current primary information vehicles (e.g., main website, youth court youth website, newsletters).

Description
With support from OJJDP and NHTSA, the American Probation and Parole Association will continue to provide information, training, technical assistance, and resource materials to youth court programs and jurisdictions interested in establishing youth courts through its National Youth Court Center. Specifically, the NYCC will provide regional and statewide training seminars to assist jurisdictions in establishing and/or enhancing youth court programs, as well as provide training via alternate means such as the Internet and audio teleconferencing. The NYCC will develop new resource materials designed to help youth courts provide more effective services for their constituents, while maintaining some of its current primary information vehicles (e.g., main website, youth court youth website, newsletters). Finally, the NYCC will make an automated case management software program available to youth courts to assist in data collection and reporting and begin laying the groundwork for gathering data from local programs electronically that can be used to assess and provide updated statistical information on youth courts nationally.
