Award Information
The National Juvenile Court Services Association (NJCSA) will develop professionally-oriented alternative online training and certification programs for juvenile justice supervisors based on "core competencies." The program will target all supervisory staffs within juvenile justice, including probation, parole (aftercare), institutional services, detention, and community-based programs offering a series of distance learning courses. This online training is expected to improve service delivery systems provided by juvenile justice agencies and overall programmatic effectiveness for the juvenile court and other juvenile justice serving agencies. Performance measures will include: number of core competencies identified, number of courses developed and pilot tested, and participants' responses to the course content and process for course completion.
