Award Information
The SOS (Second Opportunity for Success) Initiative will provide positive youth development activities to first time youth offenders between the ages of 10 and 18 in Tallahassee, Tampa, and Broward County. The goal of the program is to prevent first time offenders from becoming second time offenders and to ensure that youth are well educated and equipped for economic self-reliance. Activities will include counseling (individual and group), study circles, field trips, recreation, academic reinforcement, and life and social skills training. The youth will also participate in various community service activities, including, but not limited to neighborhood painting/clean-up projects; crime prevention rallies; food drives; and assisting senior citizens or homeless individuals and families.NCA/NCF
