The Young Leaders Delinquency and Victimization Prevention Program for At-Risk Girls

The Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital (GSCNC) seeks funding to support the council's Young Leaders Mentorship Program, which trains college women to lead Girl Scout programs as mentors to local girls who live in low-income areas and may be risk for delinquent activities or becoming victims of delinquency or other criminal activity. Evaluation tools such as pre-and post-surveys for girls, reports and feedback from mentors and reports and feedback from school administrators, will measure the output and outcomes of the Young Leaders Mentorship Program. Indicators may include improvement in grades, classroom participation and attendance; a decrease in negative and antisocial behavior and/or disciplinary actions; an improvement in self-confidence; and sustained participation in Girl Scout programs.
