OJJDP FY2007 State Advisory Group Training Grant

This project will support Development Services Group, Inc. to provide training, technical assistance, and information to State Advisory Groups, as outlined in Section 223 of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 2002, as amended. Federal legislation requires the governor of each state and territory to establish a state advisory group (SAG) comprised of members who have training, experience, or special knowledge concerning the prevention, reduction, and treatment of juvenile delinquency and the administration of juvenile justice. SAGs play a critical role in defining juvenile justice within their respective states. The SAG in each state sets priority areas and develop a 3-year plan based on an analysis of local crime statistics, gaps in related systems, trends within the state, and idetified need. This grant will develop, enhance, refine, and manage state advisory group training to support effective collaborative working relationships with OJJDP and SAG members. NCA/NCF

The FY 2009 funds will be used to support eight major tasks: 1) facilitate national SAG communications; 2) conduct needs assessment of the SAG's; 3) provide SAG training and monitor consumer feedback; 4) maintain a SAG website and database; 5) produce the on-line newsletter SAGazette and other publications; 6) assist in planning and conducting national trainings hosted by the State Relations and Assistance Division; 7) maintain and upgrade a technical assistance tracker; and 8) conduct project management and reporting.
