OJJDP FY 09 Demonstration Programs Division Grants was established to provide grants, cooperative agreements and other assistance to organizations designated by OJJDP, as authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 2002 (42 U.S.C. Sections 5601 et seq.) and statutes appropriating funds for juvenile justice programs.
The National Juvenile Justice Data Analysis Project has significantly improved the landscape of juvenile justice statistical information available nationwide by creating a data dissemination infrastructure'tools that are indispensable resources for informed policy decision-making. In the next budget period, the project will continue to address OJJDP's information needs in a cost-efficient manner, taking advantage of existing databases to produce empirical information on a range of topics and disseminating this information to diverse audiences. This includes continuing to update and expand the Statistical Briefing Book and its Easy Access data tools, conduct original research, produce publications, respond to information requests, and work with OJJDP to develop new data resources. The project will also develop a new State Resource Center web site to provide information regarding state Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act compliance efforts and integrate state information that exists in the Briefing Book and NCJJ State Juvenile Justice Profiles web sites. In addition, the project will work with OJJDP to develop an online State Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act Compliance Data Reporting System. NCA/NCF

The National Juvenile Justice Data Analysis Project will continue to address OJJDP's information needs in a cost-efficient manner, taking advantage of the potential of existing databases to produce empirical information on a wide range of topics and utilizing many different modes to disseminate this information to a diverse audience. To this end, the project will continue to update and expand the Statistical Briefing Book (including the family of Easy Access data analysis tools), conduct original research, produce publications, respond to information requests from OJJDP and the field, and work with OJJDP to develop new data resources.
