Award Information
The Rockland County community has taken positive steps to address the problems associated with gang participation's negative influence on our young people through the formation of the Rockland County Youth Gang Prevention and Awareness Taskforce. Through intense case-management and facilitated forum strategies, the Taskforce will provide programming to guide youth in finding healthy alternative behaviors to gang involvement. The Boy's Council and Targeted Outreach programs will serve approximately 130 Rockland County young people. Both are considered best practice programs, in that they have undergone evaluation and have demonstrated an ability to reduce risk behaviors and increase protective factors. NCA/NCF
