Award Information
The OJJDP FY 10 Earmarks Program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants, cooperative agreements, and other assistance authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, to organizations identified in the Conference Report to accompany the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 (P.L. 111-117), H.R. Conf. Rep. No. 111-366 at 702-714.
Hillside Family of Agencies will subcontract with Hillside Children's Center (HCC) to offer a Job Readiness Preparation for the Rural Youth program to prevent delinquent behavior and victimization by (1) developing participants' life skills, (2) developing participants' job readiness/employment skills, and (3) placing eligible participants in jobs with newly identified employer partners, where appropriate. HCC will conduct a needs assessment with local businesses to determine jobs most in demand and the type of training required to best position youth for those jobs. Sixty (60) students at risk of disconnection will receive evidence-based assessment, life skills/job readiness training and, where appropriate, after school jobs. NCA/NCF
