This program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.
Arkansas will use Title V funds to reduce risk and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice system and to intervene with first-time and serious non-violent offenders. The State will also fund activities focusing on Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC); activities may include but are not limited to mentoring, cultural enrichment, visits to colleges and universities, and assistance with college entrance exams.
