Award Information
The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements. Supported activities and efforts may include planning and administration, establishing, operating, coordinating, and evaluating projects directly or through grants and contracts with public and private agencies for the development of more effective education, training, research, prevention, diversion, treatment, and rehabilitation programs in the area of juvenile delinquency and programs to improve the juvenile justice system as found in section 221 of the JJDP Act. The Office for Socioeconomic and Community Development will concentrate on complying with the FY18 Title II award Core Requirements of the JJDP Act and on the programmatic area related to prevention efforts. The program areas that will be addressed are: Delinquency Prevention, Compliance Monitoring, Jail Removal, Separation of Youth from Adult Inmates, and State Advisory Group Allocation. NCA/NCF
